- Repetitive doses of levosimendan infusions for patients with advanced chronic HF are using to reduce hospitalization when patient is waiting for heart transplant. Levosimendan is a calcium sensitizer and potassium channel opener, has an active metabolite that prolongs its effects beyond 2-4 weeks after the infusion (infusion during 24 hr).
